I discovered yoga in 2010 while I was preparing for that year's pageant competition. I had the DVD set for P90X. Of all of them, I found YogaX to be by far the hardest and most intriguing. I felt something spark inside and wanted more. I began searching for more yoga in studios and online, but was often very intimidated and felt out of place, not flexible enough, not knowledgeable enough...
Over the years, I continued to practice off and on in various places and forms. When life was too busy and in the way, my yoga practice suffered greatly, as it was always first to go. After several pregnancy losses, I returned to the mat yet again, but this time discovered how yoga was so much more than the physical. It helped me navigate my grief and guilt to find and be at peace.
It took me over 10 years to overcome my yoga intimidation, find what it truly was, and see how it could transform my life.
